WHERE ARE YOU FROM AND WHERE DO YOU LIVE NOW?

I spent most of my life in New Jersey about 30 minutes west of New York City. A little over 2 years ago I moved to sunny Jupiter in South Florida on the East Coast.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING HEADSHOTS?

I have been shooting headshots for about 8 years.

WHAT IS YOUR LIGHTING SETUP FOR HEADSHOTS?

I use the first version Flex kit for my headshots.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR STUDIO. DO YOU OWN IT? RENT IT? OR LIVE IN IT?

My studio is located on the bottom floor of a 3 story townhouse that I rent. I live upstairs. It's a great setup. In my area, there are only 60 townhouses that are zoned for a business on the bottom floor. I was lucky enough to land one of them. The commute is really tough, down a flight of steps :) The studio space is 27'x19' with 9' ceilings. Eventually, I would like something larger, but for now, it's great for headshots and some portraits.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO SHOOT?

Along with headshots, I also shoot portraits of people and pets, indoors and outdoors. When I can, I also shoot wildlife. I have been to Zambia, Africa twice photographing animals along the Zambezi River.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER PH AND THE HSC?

I found Peter Hurley in 2014. At the time Peter offered an Online Headshot Intensive course which I took (I couldn't afford the live Intensive) and I learned so much. Eventually, I got the take the live Intensive a couple of years later.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO JOIN THE CREW ONCE YOU FOUND IT?

I joined the Crew in 2014.

WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD NEVER GUESS ABOUT YOU?

One thing that people would never guess about me is that I was a skydiver for 19 years and eventually became an instructor. I am a mild-mannered and somewhat conservative guy so people would never guess that I did something that wild.

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU?

One thing that I wish people knew about me is that I love animals and am an animal rights advocate which is something dear to my heart. All animals, domestic and wild, are living creatures, as are we, and need to be treated with respect.

Great to learn more about you, Peter!

I spent several months in Jupiter a few years ago. My dad and his lady friend used to spend the summers there. He had an accident, and I flew down to help with his care. I was there three months, I think. Nice area.

I love all your work, and you do amazing headshots, but I gotta pick out the running, joyful dog as my favorite here!! Such a great moment, and so well-done technically -- I love it! Woof!!

Thanks for sharing Peter, I really like your portrait colour grading, are you still skydiving sometimes?

I love that dog action shot!
